2-week rental: Free driving up to 4000 km. In addition, you pay DKK 2.00 per km.
3 week rental: Free driving up to 7000 km. In addition, you pay DKK 2.00 per km.
Insurance: Liability and comprehensive insurance are included in the rental period. The tenant’s excess on the comprehensive insurance is DKK 5000,-. The lessee is also fully liable for any damage not covered by the insurance, including damage caused by the lessee’s negligence when handling the motorhome. The lessee is made aware that there is a deductible of DKK 1,500 on the insurance for glass damage including stone chips. This is settled upon delivery of the motorhome. The general SOS INTERNATIONAL regulations apply. According to these regulations, any repatriation from abroad is covered. Personal belongings are not covered by the car insurance.
In the event of theft and other: The campervan’s insurance covers damage to fixtures and fittings if a police report is taken on site and a copy is taken home. It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that a police report is taken. The tenant’s own home contents insurance normally covers the tenant’s goods if it is reported to the police. The Landlord is not liable for theft of personal belongings or similar.
Lessee’s liability: The lessee is fully responsible for the motorhome during the rental period, including water, oil, air, punctures, stone chips, etc. and the lessor is not liable for damage caused by the lessee’s negligence by not performing general maintenance and inspection of the motorhome during the rental period. Any mechanical faults that are not due to the tenant’s negligence or behavior in general are covered by the landlord, subject to further agreement and cannot be carried out without further agreement with the landlord. Repairs must be carried out by an authorized workshop.
It is also the tenant’s responsibility to ensure payment of any parking fees, bridge tolls, road tolls, etc. as well as any traffic violations, as these are of no concern to the lessor.
Wear and tear, etc.: Repairs over DKK 1,000 must be agreed with the landlord before repair. The bill will be paid by the landlord upon return, if agreed (does not apply to stone chips, see section on insurance). The renter is liable for wear and tear repairs caused by irresponsible treatment of the motorhome.
In the event of a traffic accident or similar during the rental period:
– Make sure to have a police report recorded – and never take the blame abroad – it can be expensive. Remember to inform the landlord of all details of the incident.
– When using the motorhome abroad, the lessor encourages the lessee to familiarize themselves thoroughly with the traffic regulations of each country, as the lessee is liable for all police matters or other claims arising from the lessee’s use of the vehicle. The lessor cannot be held liable for this. This also applies to all other traffic offenses, including speeding fines, parking fines, etc. and other claims that may relate to the rental agreement.
Self-inflicted damage: As stated in the insurance section, the renter is liable for damage that is not covered by the insurance, including damage to items in the motorhome and any damage to furniture or other fixtures and fittings. Incorrect filling of diesel oil in the fresh water tank involves replacement of the tank, hoses and hot water tank. This replacement is also not covered by the insurance and must therefore be paid by the tenant. Such damage amounts to approximately DKK 28,000. Damage caused by incorrect operation of the vehicle or installations in the campervan is also not covered by the insurance and must therefore be paid for by the renter. The excess insurance does not cover this. The above is payable upon return of the campervan.
Pick-up and drop-off: Upon pick-up, the lessee will receive a checklist to inspect the car for any defects. Pick-up must take place on the day specified in the rental agreement, usually after 16:00. Delivery must also take place on the day specified in the rental agreement, normally no later than 11:00. The motorhome is picked up and delivered at the lessor’s place of residence at any time, cf. the lease, however, it can be delivered and picked up at the lessee’s Danish address for an additional amount depending on the address of residence (according to the agreement).
For the sake of the next tenant, it is important to deliver on time. Naturally, situations may arise where the lessee is prevented from returning the motorhome at the agreed time, in which case the lessee should contact the lessor immediately. In the event of late delivery, the lessee pays DKK 500 per hour or part thereof. The motorhome must be returned with an empty waste water and toilet tank. A fee of DKK 1000 will be charged if the toilet tank has not been emptied when the campervan is returned.
The campervan is returned as agreed in writing in the rental conditions. The lessee does not need to wash the exterior of the motorhome. The motorhome is delivered and handed over with a full fuel tank. If the fuel tank is not filled, the lessor will refill it himself, at DKK 20/L, at the lessee’s expense.
Upon delivery of the motorhome, the consumption must be calculated, and it will be calculated immediately what the lessee must have back from the deposit. The landlord has 24 hours to check the motorhome for faults and defects and contact the tenant regarding any damage, defects etc. that have occurred during the
rental period. Please allow approximately 1 hour for pick-up and drop-off respectively. If the motorhome is returned early, no refund will be made for this period.
During the trip: The lessee will be given a contact list when picking up the motorhome, so that the lessee can contact the lessor for questions or anything else. In the event of damage or similar that prevents the motorhome from driving, the lessee must contact SOS INTERNATIONAL, which will then arrange for assistance and towing if necessary. If damage occurs during the trip, the lessee is obliged to take pictures of the damage, the place of damage, the other party’s license plate and anything else deemed necessary in the event of a later insurance claim, as the lessor is not liable if the insurance does not cover due to lack of documentation from the lessee. Any fines that cannot be directly and unquestionably attributed to the lessor are attributed to the lessee of the motorhome.
Reservations and guarantee from the lessor: If the rented vehicle cannot be returned due to serious damage, defects, mechanical breakdown, etc. the lessor will attempt to obtain a similar vehicle from other lessors. If the replacement vehicle varies in size, only the rental difference will be refunded if the vehicle is smaller in size/cheaper in price than the rented vehicle. The rental difference is calculated as the difference between the campervan the customer has rented from the lessor and the rent the lessor must pay for the rental of a replacement vehicle. If it is impossible for the Lessor to provide a replacement vehicle, the full rent and deposit will be refunded. No further compensation will be granted. The renter cannot claim compensation for lost vacation caused by an accident with the rented motorhome, cf. section “Traffic accidents or similar during the rental period”. Nor as a result of mechanical faults or any faults in the motorhome’s technical installations, including mechanical heating systems, water taps, toilet, etc.
If a fuse blows during the tenancy, a water pump stops working or other minor technical faults occur, it is the tenant’s duty to have this repaired. The tenant is free to purchase new parts up to a maximum of DKK 500, which will be reimbursed by the landlord upon submission of receipts. However, it is good practice to inform the landlord by either text message, email or call, and only purchases totaling DKK 2000 may be made without prior permission from the landlord if multiple purchases are necessary.
Additional purchase: 10 kg gas, DKK 225.00 per bottle (Space for 2 bottles)
