We have always loved the camping life, and in April of 2000 we decided to move our family from the island of Funen (Fyn) to Øster Hurup to take over the campsite.  

Before buying the campsite, Birthe was a hairdresser with her own beauty saloon and Jørn was a Master Carpenter. Together they have four children, Bjørn, Bjerne, Nikoline and Josefine. In February of 200 Birthe saw the campsite’s sales listing, formerly known as Toft Camping. 7 weeks later, the entire Pedersen family moved to North Jutland. They took over the campsite on the 1st of April 2000, where it was renamed Kattegat Strand Camping.
Subsequently, a big renovation of the campsite began. 

When the family took over the campsite it was a beautiful but run down 3-star camping site. Now it is a five star campsite with swimming pool, mini zoo, playgrounds and beautiful service buildings. 

The top priority of the campsite is making sure every guest gets a fantastic holiday and create memorable experiences. Clean and hygienic facilities are of high priority and making sure your expectations live up to our standard.
